Duk System

In 2015, CO.RA.  designed and manufactured a DUK CP for a famous Italian pharmaceutical company.

The system provided with specific load cells that detect and constantly monitor the weight of the container during the spill, allowing to constantly monitor the quantity of product discharged and remotely regulate the residual amount of product in the tank to be sent to the filling machine.

To ensure the connection of the DUK System to the container of the customer, the gripping system has been built to ensure that the tank can be coupled without any effort by the 'operator and ensure that the weight detected by the load cells is accurate. The gripping system guarantees a tank inclination of 20 ° allowing a better drainage.
The design of the DUK CP meets all the requirements defined by the customer, i.e.: monitoring the amount of product discharged and a greater drainage of the tank avoiding product waste. To cope with the routine maintenance operations and the need of periodic planned cleaning, the system is built in an adjustable manner so the replacement of the units can be carried out quickly in order to have the system ready to go without delay.

ROTARY VALVE

ROTARY VALVE

The Rotary Valve is a stellar valve, designed to resolve the problem of interception and flow control in pharmaceutical systems. 

The valve allows the continuous feeding of granules and powder without obstructing the flow while smoothly dosing the product into the process machines such as mills, tablet presses, capsule fillers, micro-dosers and sieves.
 
It was conceived and realized to enable the operator to clean it easily and quickly, without the use of any tools. Its use is optimized in sterile rooms.
 
By using the same tested production criteria used for the Sole Valve, the Rotary Valve is the CO.RA. product which allows the product to be smoothly dosed,

Thanks to its star shape and to its 180° reciprocating movement, it gathers the products and transfers it into the machine below while simultaneously blocking the flow from the upstream hopper thus avoiding product de-mixing. The speed and pause can be adjusted by means of a control panel interfaced to the valve, according to requirements.
The range of interchangeable half-bodies available allows the user to realize the application most suitable to his disassembly and cleaning requirements.

Product characteristics:
The standard version has an AISI 316L satin finish body, a mirror polished body is available upon request.
The rotor has six pockets but it is possible to customize the number and volume of the pockets according to the customer’s requirements. It performs a 180° clockwise and counterclockwise reciprocating rotary movement and it is possible to adjust the speed of rotation and the pause between one rotation and the other by means of a control panel.

Products advantages:
- Small face-to-face and light weight compared to traditional stellar valves
- Little friction due to reduced contact surface between rotor and gasket
- Sterilizable in autoclave
- Interchangeable with Sole Valve and Tablet Valve
- No need for lubricants

The applications:
The Rotary Valve is a bottom valve for powder containers and it is used where a steady and controlled flow is necessary.

A metal-to-metal Rotary Valve is available for applications where the product handled is particularly aggressive or not compatible with the material of the gasket. In this case the rotor is held in place by appropriate plastic supports which prevent the contact between the rotor and the valve body. The valve was conceived  to work in aggressive environments with no pressure and where there is no need for tight shut-off.

The cleaning and disassembly characteristics of this version are similar to the standard Rotary Valve.
